About Outreach
Community outreach and charitable activities are founding principles of the Wayside Quilters Guild. Each year, guild members give their time, skills and supplies to make quilts and related items for charitable organizations. Organizations have ranged from adult shelters to organizations like Linus Quilts and ABC Quilts. Each year, the Outreach Committee reviews potential recipient organizations and selects a group for the donations. Your help has made this program successful.

Library
Our library is featuring a few new acquisitions. Marianne Hatton has generously donated a copy of her newly-published book: “Simply Dynamic Sampler Quilts”. Even if you have no plans to start another project, you will want to read this book cover-to-cover. It's full of
ideas to stimulate creativity, tips to enhance your quilting skills, and pretty quilt pictures. We
also have three new books on machine quilting, the classic Diane Gaudynski guide, a new
book called, “Free Motion Machine Quilting” by Don Linn, and “Foolproof Machine Quilting” by
Mary Mashuta, a manual on how to use your walking foot to achieve stunning results.
Our Guild maintains a library of over 200 quilting books. A list of books is available on-line by clicking the link below; or, you may request a printed list from the librarian.
If you want to borrow books, contact the librarian (email below) and she will bring your selections to the next regular guild meeting. The librarian also brings a number of books to each meeting for member to browse.
There is no set borrowing period. You may use books as long as you need them. We trust that members will show consideration when borrowing newer books that may be in demand, and return those items promptly.
